AUCTION INFORMATION

The birdhouse show and auction will be on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at the Athens Volunteer Fire Department on Third Street in Athens. The show will start at Noon and the auction will start at 4:00 PM.

We are thrilled that two local businesses offered to provide light refreshments!

THE ATHENS PARKSIDE DELI is open seven days a week, from 6 AM to 7 PM at 80 North Washington Street, Athens.  This Italian deli has great food all day long, including Boar's Head meats, breakfast and lunch sandwiches, wraps and salads.  Stop in for a meal and pick up some imported Italian specialties.  Call them to cater your next party or family get together.  Their number is (518) 945-3555.

THE ATHENS PARKSIDE DELI offered to provide light refreshments during the show.

THE STEWART HOUSE at 2 North Water Street is on the Hudson River and was just hit by heavy rains and flooding caused by Hurricane Irene.  They had offered to provide light refreshments for the auction, but the storm damage have shut them down for the near future.

Their menu specialized in Southern Bar-B-Que, such as pulled pork sandwiches, Texas style brisket and BBQ ribs.  The food was terrific!  They were open Thursday through Sunday.  They featured live music on an outdoor garden stage on the shore of the Hudson River.  They also had live music inside.  This landmark 1883 hotel is a great place to visit or stay.
 
We hope THE STEWART HOUSE gets set up again soon.  Check out this great landmark venue when they are back in business.

LIGHTHOUSE PROJECT SCHEDULE

FULL SHOW OF ALL LIGHTHOUSES & AUCTION
at Athens Fire Department

Lighthouses will be Judged for awards. Auction will proceed with the live audience and by phone. (Proceeds will first be used to pay expenses. Any net proceeds from the sale of each lighthouse are to go to the Hudson Athens Lighthouse Preservation Society (15%), the Athens Cultural Center (15%) and the artist (70%)

Lighthouses will be on display in local businesses. Guides and maps will be posted on-line and printed so people can see each lighthouse. Mail in letters to bid by phone.

Thank you to anyone who purchased a T-Shirt (in some cases more than one) and supported the project. The Street Festival was a success and we appreciate all of the interest from everyone who stopped by our booth to discuss the project and learn more about it.
